The classical ballet Paquita tells a story of a young girl who was kidnapped by gypsies as a child upon the assassination of her parents and then raised as a gypsy. We will be presenting the wedding suite of this amazing classical ballet. Originally choreographed by Joseph Mazilier, see this choreography restaged by Riley C. Bryson and danced by our pre-professional dancers.
Avoda Dance Company will also be presenting a brand new contemporary-ballet, Let’s Go Take a Walk by Melinda Cassiday Jacques, a work about walking in faith and truth, rather than letting our anxieties and the worst parts of the world get the best of us.
Join us on May 6th at 3:00 and 7:00 at the historic Bobby Sikes Theatre to see this double-feature dance event: Paquita and Let’s Go Take a Walk, featuring choreography by Riley C. Bryson, Nancy Glasscock, and Melinda C. Jacques. Both performances will also feature a special guest appearance by Gwinnett Dance Project and the Avoda Dance Competition Team in the pre-show.
You won’t want to miss this family-friendly, uplifting performance.
