America 250: Our Nation in the Arts

A celebration of the people, traditions, and artistic voices that continue to shape our nation’s history at the Lawrenceville Arts Center.

The Arts Center invites the community to experience America 250: Our Nation in the Arts, an afternoon of music, storytelling, and dance. Enjoy a celebration of the people, traditions, and voices that continue to shape our nation’s story. This celebration takes place from June 12 – September 5, 2026, in the Mary Kistner Gallery at the Lawrenceville Arts Center.

Expect an exciting lineup of performances by the Lawrenceville Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Ensemble, a musical presentation by Aurora Theatre, Southern Ballet Theatre’s dance performance and a literary presentation with Georgia Gwinnett College. The afternoon will be filled with even more inspiring performances like Hip-Hop Dance presented by Brookwood & Mountain View High School, Jazz Music featuring North Gwinnett Jazz Band from GCP Gwinnett County Public Schools, a Native American Presentation Honoring the Indigenous Peoples of GA, Literary Presentation featuring Georgia Gwinnett College, Country Music Presentation featuring Mackenzie Reed, a Film Presentation presented by Georgia Gwinnett College and the finale featuring a Gospel Music Presentation featuring Pleasant Hill Baptist Choir. The day is designed to bring generations together through the shared language of music, movement, dance, and storytelling.

Guests can also explore America 250: The View From Here, a special exhibition featuring artwork created by the talented students from Gwinnett County Public Schools. Through paintings, drawings, and mixed media, these young artists share what America means to them today and offer an inspirational look at our nation’s past, present, and future through fresh eyes.

America 250: Our Nation in the Arts is an invitation to slow down, connect with neighbors, and celebrate the creativity that brings communities together. Whether visitors stay for one presentation or spend the entire afternoon discovering each performance, they’ll experience an atmosphere filled with inspiration by a vibrant showcase on our Grand Stage that spans across many cultures, generations, and artistic disciplines. Admission is free for everyone with free parking available in Downtown Lawrenceville. Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend and experience this unique celebration of the arts that have helped tell America’s story for generations.
