This summer, the Lawrenceville Arts Center invites audiences to experience Global Stage, a one night only concert event on June 20th bringing together international artists whose music crosses borders, languages, and traditions.
Set during a season when Atlanta welcomes the world and the global spirit of football, culture, and international celebration, Global Stage captures that same movement and energy on the Metro Waterproofing Main Stage. The evening will travel across continents through sound blending Spanish guitar, Brazilian songwriting, and Afro-Cuban rhythm into one unforgettable live experience. Featuring acclaimed artists Pipo Romero, Bia Ferreira, and Telmary Díaz, the concert reflects the shared passion that make global sporting celebrations so powerful.
“People from different backgrounds, cultures, and communities coming together for one shared experience is exactly what the Lawrenceville Arts Center was built for.” said Lawrenceville Arts Center Complex General Manager, Daniela Esteves.
Though each artist brings a distinct musical language to the stage, they share a common thread of storytelling. Together, they represent music that spans cultures, artists whose work is rooted in identity, community, and emotional connection. Their combined performance reflects the same global energy seen when entire cities come alive around international competition.
Pipo Romero, known for redefining the sound of contemporary Spanish guitar, blends Andalusian roots with cinematic storytelling. Romero has performed internationally and is recognized for bringing Spanish guitar into new global conversations through albums like Ikigai and Alborada. His artistry makes him a standout voice in modern instrumental music that goes beyond traditional flamenco.
Bia Ferreira, Brazilian singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and self-described “artivist,” Bia Ferreira brings soul, funk, R&B, and fearless storytelling to the stage. Her performances have taken her across Europe, major festivals, and international cultural stages. Her powerful live presence has made her one of Brazil’s most compelling contemporary voices. Her work blends intimacy with activism, creating performances that are both deeply personal and impossible to ignore.
Telmary Díaz, known simply as Telmary, the Cuban rapper, songwriter, and spoken-word artist is celebrated for her fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythm, jazz, funk, hip-hop, and poetry. Her debut solo album A Diario earned the Cubadisco Award for Best Hip-Hop Album, and her album Fuerza Arará received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. Her live performances move effortlessly between rapid fire lyricism, jazz inspired vocals, and socially conscious storytelling. Telmary brings a bold, genre-crossing energy that reflects Havana’s vibrant musical pulse and the power of performance as communication.
