PRESS RELEASE

The Lawrenceville Arts Center is kicking off the City of Lawrenceville’s DTL CON-Quest event with its first improv comedy show of the year, setting the stage for a full lineup of comedy programming to follow.

The Tight Acquaintances are taking a journey from Dad’s Garage in Atlanta to the Lawrenceville Arts Center on a brand-new adventure! This improv comedy tribute to the classic tabletop pen-and-paper RPG (with a name that rhymes with Fungeons and Flagons) is an uproarious and magical time for hardcore fans of the game and the completely uninitiated alike! The show brings new surprises as our player characters (performed by an ensemble and wrangled by the wily Dungeon Master) rise to the challenges presented by their quest.

Dad’s Garage kicks off the City of Lawrenceville’s DTL CON-Quest, a FREE two-day celebration of comics, cosplay, games, and fandom in the heart of Downtown Lawrenceville happening May 1 and 2. What started as Free Comic Book Day has leveled up into a full convention experience with cosplays, panels, workshops, interactive fun, and the #DTLcomicquest, a scavenger hunt for free comics throughout downtown businesses around the square.

The upcoming performance will bring fast-paced, unscripted comedy to Downtown Lawrenceville, offering audiences a night of spontaneous humor and interactive entertainment. As the first improv show of the season, it marks the beginning of an expanded comedy lineup at the Lawrenceville Arts Center, with additional shows expected throughout 2026. The Lawrenceville Arts Center continues to build momentum as a hub for live entertainment, offering a growing mix of performances that attract audiences from across Gwinnett County and the metro Atlanta area.

Tickets for the improv comedy show, starting at $20, are available to purchase at lvilleartscenter.com. Additional event details and ticket information can be found on the Lawrenceville Arts Center website, with ongoing updates shared through its official social media channels.
